The Lodisna Team Torrentó concludes its second MotoJunior season in Misano

The Lodisna Team Torrentó brought its 2026 MotoJunior season to a close this Sunday at the Misano World Circuit, wrapping up its second campaign in the Stock European Championship. The seven-round championship, held across Spain, Portugal, France and Italy, has been a year of learning and growth for the team and its two riders, Lorenzo Pontillo and Daniel Lanuza, both making their championship debuts.

The final round of the calendar proved particularly challenging for the team. In a highly competitive race, Pontillo started from P13 on the grid, while Lanuza lined up in P27. The race was disrupted on the opening lap by two multiple-rider crashes at Turns 4 and 5, forcing race direction to red-flag the event.

Pontillo was involved in one of these incidents after another rider caused him to crash, leaving him unable to continue. The Belgian rider underwent several medical examinations, which fortunately ruled out any serious injuries.

Following the restart, Lanuza faced an especially demanding race. The rider had to fight his way forward from the back of the grid while also serving two outstanding Long Lap Penalties carried over from the previous round at MotorLand Aragón. Despite pushing until the finish, the circumstances of the race limited his chances, and he crossed the line in last position.

A season of progress

Beyond the difficult conclusion in Misano, the team finishes the championship having made steady progress across the seven rounds. Lorenzo Pontillo ends the season with 17 points and two standout performances: his best result of the year at Magny-Cours, where he finished sixth, and his spell leading the race for several laps at MotorLand Aragón before crashing out.

Daniel Lanuza, meanwhile, scored his first championship points in Valencia after an impressive comeback. The following week, he returned to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo to compete in the Spanish Superbike Championship, where he secured a double podium in the Stock category.

Ferran Torrentó, Team Manager

“It has not been the season finale we wanted, but that does not take away from the great work done throughout the year. I am very proud of the commitment and effort shown by the riders and the entire staff. We have improved as the season has progressed, and the team has taken steps forward at every round. It has been a year of learning, especially as both riders were making their championship debuts.

I would like to wish Lorenzo Pontillo a full and speedy recovery.

On a personal level, I am also proud that the team has completed its second season in MotoJunior. We have worked hard to establish ourselves as a team in the Stock category, and I believe we have made important progress towards that goal.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported us at every race and, of course, our sponsors. They are fundamental to keeping this project moving forward. In particular, I would like to thank Lodisna, our title sponsor.

Now it is time to take a detailed look at everything this season has taught us while beginning preparations for the 2027 project with plenty of enthusiasm. Thank you all, and see you soon!”
