Álvaro Fuertes claims an impressive fifth place in Barcelona-Catalunya after leading the race

Lodisna Team Torrentó enjoyed a very positive weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, venue of the sixth round of the FIM JuniorGP. In a race marked by extreme parity at the front, Álvaro Fuertes finished in fifth position, after a brilliant comeback in which he even led the race, setting the pace for several laps.

During Friday’s timed practice sessions, the Valencian rider once again proved to be among the fastest in the field, setting the fourth and sixth fastest times in the two sessions. However, in Saturday’s qualifying, he was unable to string together his best lap, which left him 14th on the starting grid.

Fuertes made a spectacular start to the race, jumping from P14 to second place out of the first corner. From there, he maintained a steady and consistent rhythm, climbing up and leading the front group for several laps. In the closing stages, while fighting for the win, contact with another rider cost him all chances of victory. He eventually crossed the finish line in a well-earned fifth position, once again confirming his strong progression following the podium achieved in Misano.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian rider Sviat Pylypenko, who started from 24th position, completed a solid and mistake-free weekend, showing clear improvement in his pace around the Catalan circuit and significantly lowering his personal best lap.

With this result, the team now looks ahead with optimism to the final race of the season, which will take place at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on Sunday, November 23rd.

Team Manager

“We wrap up a very positive weekend, where we were really close to victory. We continue working hard in a highly demanding category with an extremely competitive field. Álvaro didn’t have his best qualifying, but he once again delivered a great race and fought for the win until the very end.

It’s always a pleasure to race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where we feel the support of everyone who follows and encourages us. We’d like to thank them once again, as well as all our sponsors who make this project possible.

We’re very happy and heading into the final round of the season with maximum motivation and the goal of finishing the year with a victory.”
