Lodisna Team Torrentó shows race-winning pace at MotorLand

Lodisna Team Torrentó completed the sixth and penultimate round of the Stock European Championship this weekend at MotorLand Aragón, in a race weekend that ended with a bittersweet feeling for the team, although the positive note was that it once again showed the pace and potential to fight for victory.

The weekend was marked by the team’s great work and by the performance of Lorenzo Pontillo, who managed to bounce back after a crash during Saturday’s Practice session. Following the incident, the team worked against the clock to repair the bike and allow the Belgian rider to return to the track and complete a couple of fast laps to move on to the next session.

Pontillo responded with an excellent performance. He successfully came through Q1 and completed a solid Q2, setting the 5th-fastest Stock time, which allowed him to start Sunday’s race from the second row of the grid. Meanwhile, Daniel Lanuza headed into the race aiming to break into the points-paying positions, having started from 18th position.

In the race, both Lodisna Team Torrentó riders made a strong start and gained positions in the opening corners. Lorenzo Pontillo confirmed his strong pace from the beginning and moved into the lead of the race. However, on lap four, while leading the race and trying to open a gap over his rivals, he suffered a crash that forced him to retire.

Daniel Lanuza, meanwhile, also made a good start and gained positions in the early stages, moving up to 13th. The American rider also suffered a crash, but was able to rejoin and finish the race in 21st position.

Although the final result was not the one the team had hoped for, the work carried out throughout the weekend at MotorLand leaves positive signs for Lodisna Team Torrentó. The team showed its ability to react and its potential to fight for victory.

The MotoJunior season will conclude in Misano, where Lodisna Team Torrentó will face the final round of the championship with the aim of continuing to grow and turning the progress shown throughout the year into a strong result.

FERRAN TORRENTÓ
Team Manager

“Despite the final result, we leave MotorLand with the feeling that we had a positive weekend. We felt very supported by all the people who came to cheer us on, and that is very important for the team.”

“The work before the race was good and we knew Lorenzo had the pace to try to win. He took control of the race by leading it and, when he was trying to open a gap, the crash came. Obviously, it is a shame, but it also shows that he is ready to fight for victory.”

“Our project wants to be at the front and win. We are gaining experience, learning in every race and building a solid foundation. I am sure that, if we continue in this direction, victories will come soon.”
