Álvaro Fuertes claims Lodisna Team Torrentó’s first-ever JuniorGP podium at Misano”

Lodisna Team Torrentó wrapped up a successful weekend at the Misano Circuit after contesting the fifth round of the FIM JuniorGP. In a highly competitive and tense race, Álvaro Fuertes secured an excellent 3rd place. With this result, both the team and the rider achieved their first podium in the championship.

It was the team’s debut at the Italian track and, despite competing there for the first time, they arrived well-prepared. During Thursday and Friday’s free practice sessions, the squad continued to work steadily on bike setup in order to face a demanding weekend.

In qualifying, Álvaro Fuertes once again showcased his consistency. The Valencian rider put in a strong performance to set the third-fastest time, securing a front-row start and confirming once again that he is among the quickest on the grid.

Meanwhile, Sviat Pylypenko continued to show his progress, improving session by session. However, an unfortunate crash during practice compromised his qualifying. A technical issue resulting from that incident prevented him from setting a time in Q1, forcing him to start from the back of the grid.

In the race, Álvaro Fuertes made an excellent start, even leading the opening laps. He stayed in the front group alongside Jacopo Cretaro, Iker García, and Alberto García. On lap six, the Italian rider suffered a crash that ruled him out of podium contention, leaving the fight between the three Spaniards. Fuertes maintained a steady pace and crossed the line in third place, just a second and a half behind the winner. It was a valuable result that confirms the Valencian rider’s upward progression, following fifth place in Jerez and fourth at MotorLand. For his part, Sviat Pylypenko, who started from P26, staged a commendable comeback to finish 18th.

With Misano behind them, the team now looks ahead to the next round of the championship. The penultimate event of the season will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on the weekend of 1st and 2nd of November.

“It’s been a very positive weekend. The only downside was Sviat’s crash during practice, which caused the electrical issue in Q1. However, in the race he once again showed that he keeps making progress at every circuit and that his performance continues to grow.

We’ve been working hard all year and finally the podium has arrived. I’m very happy for Álvaro and for the whole team. Let’s not forget that he had no preseason, that just a few weeks ago he was still recovering from injury, and that Misano was a brand-new track for all of us. This third place is a well-deserved reward, as we are doing a great job together.
